MILIA RAFFIA BAG COLLECTION
We're excited to introduce our new Milia Raffia Bag Collection from Madagascar, the "Red Island," known for its unique flora and fauna, including lemurs and baobab trees. With a diverse population of 26 million across 18 tribes, Malagasy culture blends Asian-African influences.
This collection features hand-woven tote bags and clutches, crafted by Malagasy women using traditional techniques. Made from raffia palm, the bags are both stylish and durable, perfect for any occasion. Each bag is unique, with geometric patterns inspired by the island's nature and primates.
Artisans
We have partnered with a social enterprise in Madagascar that works with women artisans to help develop their skills. A lot of these women live well below the poverty line earning a dollar a day and lack any formal education. Weaving baskets and bags are a key means of providing them with a sustainable source of income.
